Tamiya RC Cars

January 26th, 2010

Tamiya is a firm well-known for producing first-rate miniatures of vehicles. They are famous today for introducing the world to the sport of mini 4WD racing. However, what many people do not know, is that Tamiya also introduced the world to RC (remote controlled or radio controlled) cars. The Tamiya RC car line-up has a quantity of models that show the excellence of the firm’s skill in model design.

Here are some of the Tamiya RC model cars available today:

Nitro Crusher – This Tamiya RC car boasts of a powerful FS-15S engine that features a large diameter slide carburetor to satisfy your need for speed. The engine also has a precision braking system that guarantees operational safety. This RC car can also satisfy your need for power because it comes in the form of a huge truck.

You can drive through all kinds of territory as effortlessly as if you were driving on the pavement. This Tamiya RC car has various points that permit it to cruise through special kinds of territory. It has extra-large tires that are ideal for dealing with mud, sand and rocks. It also has a frontal impact control system that allows you to enjoy steady running no matter what obstacles you come across.

Mini cooper – If you do not know what a Mini Cooper is, imagine Mr. Bean’s beloved car. This remote controlled car is based on that small-but-awesome car of the 1960’s. The Mini Cooper is famous for its small size and mighty performance. In fact, the Mini Cooper even raced tremendously well in competitions such as the World Rally Championships.

This radio controlled car features an M-03 chassis that is specially intended to be as speedy as possible. The double wishbone suspension also ensures the stability and first-rate handling of the car. This model is an electric RC car, which means that the batteries add a lot of weight. However, a hole cut into the chassis guarantees that this RC car can still run very well regardless of its weight.

Subaru Impreza WRC Monte Carlo – This RC model is designed for the latest kind of racing. This Tamiya RC car is designed to drift. The chassis of this RC vehicle, the TT-01D, is built from lightweight materials and has been specifically designed to have a low center of gravity. This means that this RC car will not turn over if you try to “drift” it.

What are the benefits of drift racing? Well, in normal turns, there is a penchant for vehicles to lose velocity. By drifting, the vehicle can maintain the highest speed and precision control. Nevertheless, there is always the opportunity of something going wrong, which is the reason for Tamiya’s excellent engineering.

XBG Nitro Force – Capable of mind-boggling high speeds, this RC car is unquestionably a force to be reckoned with. Powered by a precision FR-S glow engine, this RC auto uses a recoil starter for clean starting every time. This Tamiya RC car also boasts of a reinforced resin frame chassis with a low center of gravity, making it extra stable during fast driving.

This Tamiya RC car also features a very aerodynamic frame, making sure that the flow of air will not adversely affect your desire for speed. All in all, if you want a Tamiya RC car that will satisfy your desire for speed and excitement, this is the vehicle that you should be getting.

Model Radio Controlled Sports Cars

January 21st, 2010

Do your interests in model remote control cars lie in high speed, fast acceleration and beauty of form? If this is precisely what you are searching for in a model car, then a model sports car is almost certainly what you are searching for. Authentic size sports cars are a $4.5 billion industry with about 55,000 units being purchased every year.

Sports cars and their model counterparts are manufactured as high performance machines, which means that they can be driven in ways that normal assembly line cars can not. For example, in the case of a real sports car, it frequently takes no more than five seconds to go from 0 to 100 mph. Likewise in a model high performance gas replica, it often takes no more than two seconds to reach 60 mph from a dead start.

Because it is more tricky to maneuver a speeding vehicle, sports cars and model sports cars are especially designed to handle best at high speeds. In deed, the word “sporty” was coined to refer to a sleek but robust design that exudes power. It was later personified to refer to the person behind the wheel or in the modelling world, the person at the remote controls.

The following is a basic glossary of sports car terminology and a basic list of sports car manufacturers (many of which have their counterpart vehicles in the world of model gas remote control cars).

- FF – front engine, front wheel drive. The FF layout has a moderate capability for high speed handling and is seen in some models such as the Fiat Coup?, and the Lotus Elan M100.

- FR – front engine, rear wheel drive Considered the ?classic? sports car layout, the engine drives the rear wheels but keeps the weight off the back. The FR is good at drifting corners while still maintaining control. Mercedes-Benz is recognized for using this design for its models.

- RR – rear engine, rear wheel drive With the engine at the back powering the rear wheels, weight placement on a RR design provides outstanding traction for a car. However, without auxiliary driving aids like stability control, handling becomes difficult. These days, the only maker who keeps the RR layout for its cars is Porche.

AWD – all wheel drive An AWD design offers the easiest handling, making it perfect for those who are just starting to race sports cars. Audi started the widespread use of this technique with the Quattro. Japanese makers like Mitsubishi employed this layout to increase handling, making it an excellent rally car.

Because of more stringent regulations in the United States, sports car manufacturers are more widespread in Europe than in America. Nevertheless, American makes are in equal competition with their European and Asian counterparts. Some recognized manufacturers and models are:

Alfa Romeo; Alpine; Aston Martin; Austin-Healey; BMW; Bugatti; Caterham; Davrian; De Lorean; Ferrari; Fisker; Jaguar; Koenigsegg; Lamborghini; Lotus; McLaren; Maserati; MG; Morgan; Panoz; Porsche; Triumph; TVR; Vector.

If this article has whetted your appetite for a sports car, go out and buy one now, if you are wealthy. If not, why not do the next best thing and buy yourself a 1:8 or even a 1:5 petrol-powered, remote-controlled sports car?

Owen Jones, the author of this article, writes on many subjects, but is currently involved with the petrol remote control car. If you have an interest in model or toy rc vehicles, please go over to our website now at 1/5 Scale RC Cars

Reviews About Scooters

December 28th, 2009

I have read loads of reviews about scooters and motorbikes, because I am a subscriber to a scooter and motorcycle aficionados’ magazine that carries articles about all the different kinds of scooters and motorcycles on the market. It also suggests the best one to acquire depending on whether you are a first time owner or a two-wheeler veteran. The magazine is great, and it helps me understand what other scooter owners feel about the different models and brands of scooters.

I have to say that people’s opinions vary quite widely on every subject, which is why it’s probably always best to do your own research and get what best suits you, rather than getting what other people say will suit you, when they do not even know you. Having said that, many first time buyers do not actually know what they are looking for, and it is really these people that these reviews are written for.

However, these reviews are not meant to be taken too literally, rather they are intended as a guideline so that prospective novice purchasers have to ruminate about the aspects of buying a scooter or motorbike. It also gives experts a run down of the salient details. Then you need to make up your own mind whether you care, for instance, whether the scooter’s seat is made of leather or fabric.

All in all, I like this magazine because it considers people from all walks of life, and its writers and editor appreciate that even if you are interested in purchasing a scooter, you may not have enough money or you might be reading just out of interest in scooters or motorcycles.

We all understand that money is hard to come by these days, and purchasers are becoming more and more well-informed about the goods they want, which is a good thing in my opinion. After all, there are other merchants who only desire to get the most money they can for their products and mark up their scooter prices to inflated amounts in the hope that they will get a few foolish patrons that did not do their groundwork.

And I am sure that they probably do get a few patrons like that, because they do stay in business somehow and I regularly hear awfulness stories about individuals who have paid far too much for their scooter or motorbike.

When you ask them why they did not take the trouble to read the reviews in a magazine, they usually say that they did not know about the magazines, or even worse, that they did not have enough time. Therefore it seems that they had enough time to work like a dog for the money, but then not enough time to read a short magazine review? I doubt it very much. With a bit of luck, consumers will continue becoming more and more careful about their purchases.

It is such a pity, so, If you happen to be a new scooter fan, or you know someone who is, please make sure you read the scooter and motorbike reviews before concluding a purchase. It can literally save you hundreds or even thousands of your hard earned dollars.

The Advantages Of Owning A Razor Scooter

December 22nd, 2009

The Razor scooter is a great suggestion for everybody wanting to remain in good physical shape. These days many of individuals are office-bound and we all appear to have a reduced amount of time for simply going out for a walk, which is the age-old therapy for putting on a few kilos. The Razor scooter can help you here.

How often have you said to yourself, ‘I haven’t got time to walk’ or ‘I can’t be bothered to walk’ and then have jumped in the automobile instead? But what if you had a Razor scooter handy? You could simply scooter down to the store or the park. You could take the dog for more walks and at a snappier pace too, something your dog will certainly be grateful for.

The Razor A series or its bigger siblings, the Razor Pro or Razor Cruiser, are not expensive, costing between $40 and $60, cheaper still at Amazon or eBay, yet they will quickly save you hundreds of dollars on gas. After all, starting a vehicle is usually the most costly part of a short trip.

The Razor scooter is also very versatile. Weighing in at approximately six pounds, anybody could carry it without difficulty up or down a couple of stairs or lift it in or out of the trunk of a car. But not only that, it folds up too, so that the whole scooter is only a couple of feet long by six inches high by six inches wide. It will without difficulty fit in a passage sideboard or the boot of a car.

Your Razor scooter could be used in many ways to save you money and keep you trimmer. For instance, if you want a loaf of bread, you could hop on your scooter. You could take you dog to the park. You could scooter with your kids ‘in a pack’. You could put a Razor scooter in the trunk of your car and scooter the last half a mile into college. And every time you get on that scooter, you are burning not petroleum but flab!

Think of it that way. You are saving energy and money and burning your surplus calories at the same time. You are also exercising your legs and raising your metabolism and heart rate too. That is everything the bank manager and the doctor suggested all rolled into one . And you will be in first-class company too.

Do you know who else’s children ride Razor scooters? Well, there’s Al Pacino’s twins for a start. Now, Al Pacino is not short of a few dollars, I’m sure, so you can be certain that he’s going to be looking for the finest for his kids, isn’t he? And Lisa Kudrow and her son. And Liv and Cal, offspring of Julianne Moore and Bart Freundlich. You would be forgiven for saying, ‘Aw well, they got theirs for free!’ and that may be true, but at about $40 who cares?

The advantages in saved motor fuel and increased exercise make the Razor scooter a must-have necessity in my eyes. So, take another look at the Razor scooter and keep in mind that someone’s birthday is coming up in a little while.

Remote Control Models – The Helicopter

December 21st, 2009

If you like remote controlled models and have lots of room, then you may want to consider purchasing one of the new big remote control helicopters that have recently been introduced by several makes. These helicopters, which can occasionally be as large as ten feet long, rival genuine helicopters in agility. They are expensive and can cost three thousand dollars or more.

As with many fads, some people just have to have one of their own. So, the next time you are walking in the park and you see a helicopter flying around, look again closely. At first you will probably think that it is a real helicopter that is simply further away then you first thought. But look again and you will probably see someone controlling the helicopter with a huge remote control box.

If you see one of these remote controlled helicopters in flight, consider yourself very lucky. Because it is so expensive to own one of these beauties, they are also still fairly rare. However, because I am an ardent collector myself, I have considered buying one of these large remote control helicopters, and I even put a bid on one in Ebay once, but in the end I did not get it and instead decided to wait until the cost comes down a bit more.

Just as with any new, popular item, big remote control helicopters are the latest fad, but in a few years, I am sure there will be a greater supply and the cost will drop. Then I will be ready and waiting to buy. But until then, I have a very generous and wealthy friend who owns one, and I will practice flying his. I have already taken it out once – it is so much more powerful than the normal, small remote control helicopters that you are probably used to. When you first turn it on, the big remote control helicopter?s blades spin with such ferocity, that you may worry that you are going to break something. and then, when it lifts off the ground, you will experience a huge sense of accomplishment, knowing that you are the one who is controlling it.

And if you are able to make a successful, smooth landing as well, then you can truly call yourself a helicopter pilot, because even those very experienced with small remote control helicopters will be impressed to see someone land a big remote control helicopter, because it really is completely different. So if you happen to be lucky, well-off, or just single-minded enough to purchase one of your own, take pleasure in your time with your giant helicopter.

I assure you that it will be one of the most exciting experiences of your life. For me, the entire event was unreal, and when it was all over, I had to phone everyone I knew and tell them how I had flown a 10 foot helicopter and landed it smoothly. I bet that?s how pilots feel the first time they fly a real aircraft.

Remember the Scooter?

December 21st, 2009

The Razor A scooter … What does that phrase make you think about? If you have kids, I’m sure that you’ve heard of the Razor A scooter series, but they weren’t about when we were children. However, the concept was, even though I forget the marques from my youth.

I loved my two-wheeled, push-powered scooter when I was young. Mum and Dad had their automobile, my older brothers had their bikes and I had my scooter. It didn’t go very fast, but then, I didn’t go very far either, but it was a vehicle, of sorts and it gave that feeling of freedom. I had my wheels and I was on the move!

Well, the modern equivalent of that scooter is the Razor A scooter series. And they really are modern too! They are a far cry from the simple scooters of years ago. The Razor A scooter series was introduced in the year 2000 and is tough, log-lasting, collapsible and as safe as you can get.

The Razor A scooter series is sold in several forms to suit various age groups, requirements and wallets. For example, the Razor A scooter is intended for children of six years and older, while the Razor A2 scooter, the Razor A3 scooter and the Razor Pro scooter are meant for older, heavier, more demanding and more skilful riders. With prices starting at about $25 none of them is over-priced.

The Razor A scooter series is made from aircraft-grade light aluminium and weighs in at just six pounds. That’s light enough for any young child to be able to carry, if required, without risk of injury. It is also collapsible, which means that it is easy to carry under your arm, in the boot of your car or on the bus. Storage is a doddle too.

The Razor A scooter series is height-adjustable too in that the handlebars can be raised as your child grows up or if an older sibling wants a go. It also has a heavy-duty brake, which is obviously very important since these scooters will easily travel at speeds of five or six mph on the level and much more on a slope. Going down hill, that is.

The Razor A scooter series also has lesser and greater stable companions. The Razor Kiddie Kick is meant for children younger than six and has a third wheel for greater stability, although it is equally as robust and long-lasting as the Razor A scooter series. The Razor A scooter range is intended for ‘young-minded’ people from the age of six. I say ‘young-minded’ because it is quite the fashion now, to put one in the car and scooter the last mile or two into work or college. That mile or two every day will save you fuel and give you more exercise over a long period of time. After all, it all adds up, doesn’t it?

Then, for those who require a bit more, there are the Razor E100(S), Razor E200(S) and the Razor E300(S), which are electrically powered scooters. The (S) denotes that they have a seat fitted.

So, why not introduce your child to the concept of mobility with a Razor A scooter? Give your child the opportunity to look back on his or her younger years in 20-30 years time and remember rushing about at three-five mph on a Razor A scooter.

Do you have great memories of your chilhood scooter? The Razor A scooter is the modern equivilent. Come over to our webweb site at http://razorascooter.com and find out more.

Razor Scooter Series

December 19th, 2009

The Razor kick scooter is the present-day equivalent of the type of scooter that has been about for 50 years or more. In actuality, children have almost definitely been attaching boards to wheels ever since scrap wheels became available. As with those classic scooters, the Razor kick scooter is propelled forward by foot power. That is, you put one foot on the board and push forward, or in other words kick back on the ground with the other.

This method of movement makes this kick scooter an ideal style of transport, exercise and pleasure for kids of all ages. In deed, Razor do not advocate a Razor scooter for the under fives unless supervised by an adult and state in their handbook:

“Children under age eight (8) should ride with adult supervision at all times. All children and preteens should ride with adult guidance at all times”.

This appears pretty strict to me and is almost certainly an example of over-caution because of the litigious society we live in. Just try saying to a twelve-year that you have to use guidance on all of his or her journeys!

Having said that the Razor kick scooter comes in roughly seven different models. There is the Kiddie Kick scooter for the under fives. It is constructed of tough plastic and has a third wheel for added stability.

Then there is the ‘A’ series of Razor scooters: the A, A2, A3 and AW. These models are more or less equal to a child’s increase in size, ability and experience, although the highest suggested weight for all three models of Razor scooter is 65 kilos or 143 lbs.

The Razor kick scooter Pro is a leap up in technology and so has more facilities. It can be used for extreme sport and will put up with a rider weighing up to 100 kilos or 220 lbs.

Last, but not least, is the Cruiser Razor scooter. It will carry 79 kilos (175 lbs of weight and has larger wheels as it is meant for laid-back cruising about. The bigger wheels mean that you won’t be conscious of any rough ground underneath you while you are on this Razor scooter.

All of these Razor scooters share comparable characteristics. All of these models of the Razor kick scooter are of very tough manufacture and all but the Razor Kiddie Kick scooter are made of high-grade aluminium and are built to last.

These Razor scooters have extensible steering rods, which means that they can be drawn up to grow with your child or can be used by kids of diverse sizes. They also share a tough braking system which works on the rear wheel, rendering them ultra-safe for use in the vicinity of pedestrians.

A Razor kick scooter begins at about $40 and so is an inexpensive way for you to make certain that your youngster gets regular exercise, gets out from behind his computer, gets some fresh air and sunlight and learns about good manners while having fun being mobile. Apart from all these benefits, a Razor kick scooter will give your child warm memories to look back on for the rest of his or her life.
