<p>First of all, it&#8217;s very difficult to find information on the Atkins grapefruit diet plan. Smart people know that when someone is perpetrating a deception, or a con, they will often gloss over facts. This is what the Atkins grapefruit diet seems to do in an attempt to get people to associate it with two supposedly effective diets.</p>
<p>So, is the Atkins Grapefruit Diet part of the Atkins Diet or endorsed by the estate of the late Dr. Atkins? The answer is a resounding &#8216;no&#8217;, not only is there no mention of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet on the Atkins website, but there is no fruit of at all mentioned in the list of permitted foods in the Atkins diet Induction stage.</p>
<p>The induction phase recommends the following foodstuffs:</p>
<p>Fish of any types; any fowl such as turkey and chicken; any shellfish; any meat such as beef or pork; eggs prepared in any style, including fried; cheese; vegetables; herbs and spices; fats and oils; low carbohydrate beverages, including diet soft drinks.</p>
<p>Do you notice anything? No fruit is on that list. Later phases of the Atkins diet do include limited quantities of fruits such as cantaloupe, strawberries and even lemon juice, and the pre-maintenance and maintenance phases even specifically permit small amounts of grapefruit. But when compared to the amount of Grapefruit recommended on the Atkins Grapefruit Diet, once more there is a disagreement.</p>
<p>The Atkins Grapefruit Diet recommends a cup of grapefruit juice or a cup of grapefruit sections, with 8 and 18 carbs respectively. Even the most generous stages of the Atkins diet recommends restricting grapefruit consumption to less than 8 carbs per day. That&#8217;s a direct contradiction of one diet with the other</p>
<p>Most intelligent people would inspect the Atkins website the moment they heard of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet. When they found no mention of that diet on the site, a red light would go off and an alarm bell would sound.</p>
<p>Generally speaking, you should remember this: any diet that relies too much on one food, such as grapefruit on a grapefruit diet, is unhealthy for all but very short periods. The Atkins Grapefruit Diet is not associated with the Atkins diet, and may interfere with the results of the Atkins diet in its early stages.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following a diet is never easy, especially to begin with, and to tell the truth just because you&#8217;re going to do the Atkins Diet, it doesn&#8217;t mean that it will get any easier either. Sure, you can eat almost unlimited amounts of high fat and high protein foods, but you&#8217;re still following a diet and you still need to control your food consumption. </p>
<p>For a start off, you will have to control your carb intake especially in the first stage of your diet, and although you get to increase that incrementally later on in the diet, you might still be missing your favourite carbs, like bread or chocolate, and can still be prone to these cravings. And that&#8217;s where some of the Atkins products can help.</p>
<p>Having tasted some of these Atkins products myself, I have to mention that I think them to be worth the money. They&#8217;re by no means cheap but then again, nor are they so expensive that you&#8217;ll only be able to afford one product and go hungry for the rest of the time, which might, in its own way ensure that you lose weight!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The short name for the &#8216;Atkins Nutritional Approach&#8217; is the &#8216;Atkins Diet&#8217;, which was the brainchild of Doctor Robert Atkins. Dr. Atkins had gained a lot of excess weight while he was studying in medical school and after reading about a certain diet in the medical journal, he made up his mind to improve it and publish it under his own name.</p>
<p>Atkins, in his Atkins Diet book, stated that he believed that the prevailing theories about putting on weight were completely wrong. First, he dismissed the notion that saturated fats were bad; instead he said it was it was carbohydrates that led to the weight problems Americans have these days. Atkins held that our obsession with avoiding fat actually aggravated the problem. He pointed out that the low-fat foods that were high in carbohydrates were not helping the nation, which probably meant that people on a diet often ate foods that were worse for them than what they had normally eaten.</p>
<p>The Atkins diet moved the focus. Atkins said that by cutting out carbohydrates, people would consume stored body fats. And, of course, if you lose the fat, you lose the weight. He said it was not just a matter of eating less. Atkins postulated that your diet could actually help you burn calories and The Atkins Diet supposedly burned more calories than were consumed everyday. But the claims were disputed.</p>
<p>Dr. Atkins also touted the positive influence that his diet could have on people with type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a disease you get early in life, but type 2 is often closely associated with diet and excess body weight. So, it should follow that any diet that helps reduce weight, will help people with Type 2 diabetes. The Atkins diet is low in carbohydrates, which ought to be avoided with type 2 diabetes regardless of the caloric intake, so because of this aspect of the diet, Atkins claimed that those who suffer type 2 diabetes would no longer need medication such as insulin. In general, doctors disagree with Atkins on this point, although they do agree, however, that a lower carbohydrate intake helps control Type 2 diabetes, but there is no proof that carbohydrates cause diabetes.</p>
<p>What does one have to do to follow the Atkins diet? Well, it goes in four phases &#8211; Induction; On-Going Weight loss; Pre-maintenance; and Lifetime Maintenance. This is a brief synopsis of the first phase &#8211; The Induction Phase.</p>
<p>The Induction phase is the most difficult of the phases in the Atkins diet. Atkins is flexible about how long it should last &#8221; but recommends it lasts for two weeks. During this phase, carbohydrate consumption is severely limited &#8221; you can only eat up to 20 grammes per day. The goal is to enter a fat burning metabolic phase called &#8216;ketosis&#8217; wherein the body, starved of glucose, begins to convert stored fat into the fatty acids needed to power the body. Weight loss during this phase is often large &#8221; some Atkins dieters reported losses of 5-10 pounds a week or more.</p>
<p>The purposes of the final three phases in the Atkins diet are to learn the ideal carbohydrate levels for the next two phases, which are continued weight loss and weight maintenance. Many millions of people are still losing the weight they want to on the Atkins Diet &#8221; but be aware of the risks of taking in too much cholesterol and fat.</p>

<p>We live in a world where being slim is the ideal. We are encouraged to believe that this is what we should all look like as well. We see the evidence of this in the slim people in fashion magazines, in beauty contests on television, on posters and in many other places. There are books that are devoted to helping us achieve this new look. One book that tries to help you obtain this new shape is Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution. </p>
<p>In Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, we are advised about a new way of living &#8211; a low carb lifestyle. In this new way, we are instructed what kinds of low carb foods we can eat. Naturally, we will have to follow strict instructions for Dr Atkins diet to begin its magic and help us to shed those ugly pounds.</p>
<p>There are 4 stages in Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution diet that have to be followed by anyone who wants to lose weight the Atkins diet way. These stages are the Induction which is stage 1; Ongoing weight loss which is stage 2; Pre-maintenance is stage 3 and Maintenance, which is stage 4. In addition to the dietary rules of these stages Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book recommends regular exercise and using nutritional supplements as part of his low carb diet.</p>
<p>In the induction stage of the diet you can lose about 15 pounds. This is achieved by controlling your carb consumption to 20 grams a day. You can, however, eat lots of low carb vegetables in your diet like lettuce, broccoli and tomatoes. Unfortunately consuming yoghurt, fruits, rice, corn and starchy vegetables like potatoes is not allowed while you are on the Atkins diet. Also caffeine and alcohol drinks are not recommended.</p>
<p>Dr Atkins&#8217; New Diet Revolution declares that it is in the induction stage, that you will stabilize your blood sugar level, thereby curing several health issues that arise from unstable blood sugar levels, like fatigue and diabetes. It is also during this induction phase of the Atkins New Diet Revolution diet that you break your food addictions and your cravings for different foods such as sugar and alcohol. </p>
<p>When you enter the 3rd and 4th stages in Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, the book tells you that you have reached your ideal weight. From these stages on, you get to increase your daily carb intake to up to 60 grams per day. From here on. if you want to stay at your ideal weight then you must stick to the Atkins diet for the remainder of your life. </p>
<p>Honestly, there does not seem to be a better way to lose weight and keep it off for good. The Atkins diet really does work, and by reading Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution you will be taking a giant step in the right direction.</p>
